Awesome, every home should have one
Happily collecting things all my life...
Do you have Porch Pirates in the UK Nigels?
I think it depends on where you live, where I am generally we are ok, although even I've had the odd amazon package which was claimed to be delivered but I never saw. But knowing on those occasions I was in all day and nobody rang the bell or knocked I suspect it was more than likely never delivered in the first place or left at a prior stop by mistake.
However in other parts, more likely cities I think it can be a big problem...

In Amazons case aren't there a lot of those Pick-Up boxes in the UK or at least the cities? They are showing up more here in the States but none yet near me. That would be good for Amazon packages but not much help with other carriers.
You bring up a good point about a knock or doorbell and it is a pet peeve of mine. Since the increase of Online sales, delivery and porch pirates, is it too much to ask that it be required for delivery persons to ring the doorbell and knock when they leave a package? Like you there has been many, many times I have been home when a delivery occurred and I didn't know it. I would find out only because I checked online with the Tracking number and sure enough it had been left on the porch previously. I know that it would take a few seconds more at each drop off but in this day and age it should be part of the job.

Engineer who made Revenge Package has admitted that some of the reactions on his video were faked! Article: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...FAKED.html
I feel bad for the guy because HE didn’t appear to be in on the fraud. If I remember the original video correctly, the female friend he loaned the device to had it stolen off her porch twice and I presume she’s the one who arranged those fake thefts.
I agree OTR especially since this guy seems legit and respected in the YouTube community.
On the other hand, no thinking person in the UK believes anything that's printed in the Daily Mail.
