Box Sets of the Thomas Series???

DVDs were region locked because of how films were released in the past, where some places got films out in DVD up to 6 months before another region. (The only example I can think of is Finding Nemo) They were locked to prevent people simply importing a foreign copy of the film to watch it sometimes before it even came to cinemas in the region. The loophole was that you could simply import a DVD player from the region as well and get around the lock. After DVD player regions were unlocked, however, this is no longer necessary.

Thanks Chrizz

Does anyone have an opinion or know if this is something that a collection should have? I see that is has Peter Fonda and Alec Baldwin on its cover.

That film is something that still divides the fanbase to this day. The excessive Americanisation and how far it strayed from the original director's cut (which still eludes is to this day) make it one of the more hated films, but it is still loved by quite a few people (myself included) so I'd say go for it, but be warned, you'll likely get a very mixed bag of responses to this.

Anyone have any opinions on this DVD Set???

It looks to be a promising mix of the Britt Allcroft and early HiT days. I grew up with most of these, and I can see one of the only DVDs to exclusively feature 'The Pack' (The construction machines). If this is for sale I'd again say go for it, as these are some of the best episodes mixed with a few 'not as good' ones (not 'Sharon Miller' bad, but sometimes not far off) It's a gamble, but as someone who owns most of the DVDs in this box set, they're generally good enough to outweigh the terrible ones.

Having also grown up with most of those in one way or another, I also suggest it, along with the Best of James and Best of Percy DVDs if you can find them.
Modeling the LNER (and some Thomas stuff) in OO Scale.

Thanks for the input fellas. I think I will keep an eye out for a new set of these to file away.
