Box Sets of the Thomas Series???

Is there such a thing as Boxed Set DVD's of the Thomas Series possibly updated and reworked? It has come to mind that my 'Future World' Collection should have a set of the original series so my future generated children will have something to get them going at a young age before transitioning into these battery operated wonders?

Every series was released individually on DVD, but the earlier ones (Series 1-7) can be hard to find.

Bummer, its odd that nobody has put together Box Sets of the entire collection. Not sure what 'Series' means. How many shows are in a series? Besides 1 - 7 which Series would be the best?

Oops.. Forgot the Brits have different terms. Series means 'Season' and usually has about 24 episodes. As for which is the best I'd say Season 4, but that can vary, I only listed Seasons 1-7 because those are the ones that came before HiT entertainment decided to dumb everything down to a ridiculous level. But after that I'd say that Season 20 is the best that you'd get out of the later seasons.

You're going to have a difficult time since unlike the UK, full complete series/season DVDs aren't produced in the US. There are some download alternatives with Amazon prime holding S1-7, and iTunes holding S16-20.

i used to have a boxed set of 1-5 that i got from a bookseller that went around offices and left stands of product to buy. i gave them to a friends daughter who is thomas obsessed.

Fantastic, that box set would be perfect, exactly what I would need and that box looks to be quite sturdy to last the test of time. Unfortunately  it looks like it won't play here in the States as it has a Region 2 Code. In this video one can see how perfect this DVD set would be for me however this fellow is speaking a strange language and is hard to understand with these old ears.

Super, most DVD players these days are region free from the box or can be changed using a code from the remote, you would just need to research the model you have. Alternatively if you try to play a foreign region DVD on a PC DVD drive it will prompt you to set the region - admittedly you can only do this 5 times before it locks to the last region - but I just purchased an external USB DVD writer from Amazon for a mere £8 and a few pence, so there would be nothing to stop you getting one just for region 2 DVD's (incidentally Region 2 also covers Japan as well as Europe for some bizarre reason)...

I didn't know that Nigels, however these wouldn't be for me to watch now but for the Future World viewing and I wouldn't want those future-ites to have to do something in order to watch them. I do appreciate the lesson as I always thought the reason they had Regions was to protect the rights but I really don't know. What I am curious about is, if there is a set like this in the UK why haven't they found a distributor in the States or other parts of the world to sell in another market to increase profits.
