That looks like part of a larger station. Those sit on top of a stop and go track/tunnel usually. There are several colors or these; white, blue, gray, teal, etc...

In this example it is a double but there are variations in different sets.

Also, do you have a track piece similar to one of these? With one of these you can make a station stop twice as long as your pictured item that was sold separately and in some sets (like the Amtrak)
