Pequetren Train Sets?

I don't know if any of you fine folk have ever seen/heard of the Pequetren range of model trains, but I hadn't until recently when one popped up on an eBay search.

These peeked my interest as they are something pretty unusual and very interesting. They are battery powered and approximately HO gauge models, but here's the interesting part the bodies are not plastic. Instead they are metal with litho style printing on them, this makes them look very realistic while they are effectively 'old school' tin plate toys Smile

From what I've found out so far they are manufactured in Spain (of all places) and there are quite a few different sets, some passenger trains, some goods trains, some multiple trains in each set. Each seems to come with a goodly amount of rolling stock, track, accessories etc... some have working lights as well, yet they are pretty darn cheap.

The next big question is do they run on Blue Tracks as well? If so they could be some nice new additions to your sets...

Have a look see what you think...

Thanks Nigels, they are quite neat but I wouldn't think they could run on the Tomy blue tracks because they have long wheel bases and would be able to navigate the curves but I could be wrong especially if their wheels articulated. Looks like they may be popular in Australia as there looks to be a lot for sale down under.
If I decide to get one I'll let you know what I find out Smile
