Why Can't They Make......

The level of detail on that station is really remarkable. Too bad they don't make 'em like that anymore!

Well, if it was Trackmaster 2, you'd get an 8 foot long roller coaster that performs one neat action, cost around $100 USD and cannot be assembled by kids in the target age range for the toy! Oh, and when a cogwheel tire on the engine gets damaged, it's pretty much scrap!

To be fair, I'm not actually anti-Trackmaster 2 and in fact, there are a number of things I like about it. But hey, why not enjoy a bit of snark?

Super - great video of a great little model, as you say shame they don't make these anymore, or indeed an upgrade. Imagine one with the route board with LED's for each stop and a piece of electronics that say every 10 seconds moved the destination along the route etc...

Also some LCD's for the windows so that when you press the blue buttons they change display or something. Could be awesome Smile
Happily collecting things all my life... Big Grin

Hundred-something NZD for people like me and sun.

And, yeah, the only things i have against TM2 is that the detail on everything went to crap, especially the trains, that and i have to buy brand new track and i don't even have the TOMY to TM1 adapter yet.
i really enjoyed this thread i just bought a new Vicarstown bridge accessory from Plarail for birthday i would really like to see the lighthouse-Otis

not sure if i have said this over the years, but i have a renewed wish for trains wrapped in studio ghibli characters. i would buy them not matter the cost. im actually amazed it hasnt happened yet, either for the toys or actual trains.

i did find a bus while searching google. now i want tomica to make one. the designs are from the opening sequence of my neighbour totoro.

currently im on a ghibli kick after seeing two of my favourites on the big screen during a film festival. am now rewatching the whole catalogue in chronological order.

I am not sure I have heard of those characters before. I think I wouldn't mind wraps so much if they would use clear vinyl rather than vinyl covered paper stickers like they use now. So another Hobby Collection for Sun to get into Big Grin
