I know the feeling. Too many times have I been missing a single straight, or the gap is a small gap that a straight won't fit, or the tracks have male to male or female to female ends that don't match up. On top of that, the roadways were sometimes weird because they weren't as flexible as the rails, and the curves were a full turn in one piece.
