I should have known better lol!! I've got two of the official ones so far, love the design and the colour.

Out of interest have you dug into the old racers yet? The 'World Racer' series have a couple of nice cars as do the 'Speed Racer' (I think its called that).

One thing I have got quite hooked on are the 'Tiny Turbo' range, I've managed to get hold of quite a few of those as well as built my own designs. Found a nice way to spice them up a bit without the stickers - I use either Automobile 'stripes' (available on rolls from a car parts shop) or more recently the rolls of tape used by nail bars to decorate woman's nails, you get some great metallic as colours as well as holographic effects type tape for a song off eBay (30 mixed types for a couple of quid).

Just adding some metallic stripes to a racing car tiny turbo type design really improves the impact of it.

Actually I just realised the one you got there AC is the McLaren P1, I'm talking about the new 720; McLaren

They are the 720s, I just made them look like "GT3" style. Added the Wings and front diffusers Big Grin

Here's the normal looking 720s. Again I was using parts that were available, like the brick for the headlight, Lego only has 3 versions: Black, Blue and now the orange for the 720s.

You made all of these from scratch AC?

Ah ok gotcha lol!!

Where do you source all the less common parts? They are not generally available on the Lego 'pick a brick' site, I guess BrickLink is another (if expensive) option to obtain them, or do you just buy extras of the current kits that carry the parts and break them? (if you do you're not alone I've been known to do this Smile)

More to the point has AC made any 'from scratch' that are not pre-existing Lego models (i.e. not available in kit or instruction form)?

I've been looking at more F1 cars and some of the Le Man's types...
