Where in the US is it possible to purchase Plairail items or do you always need to order online from Japan?

Hello and welcome.

You can find Plarail items on eBay quite often. There are several of us who do purchase from Japan auctions for maybe one or two things in a large lot then try and sell off the rest.

In addition to eBay you can find Plarail on Amazon fairly easy, which may likely ship from Japan but typically you can get free shipping and the prices are reasonable.

Hope this helps..

I'll just reiterate what Ripley has said. I buy new in box stuff from the various Japanese retailers that cater to the Western market. Hobby Search, Hobby Link Japan, etc. I've also used the Amazon marketplace with *generally* good and less expensive results, although I did have one item go missing in recent weeks.

eBay is a good source, especially for common loose and older stuff. When you need a bunch of blue track, some passenger coaches or a string gondolas, it's usually a great place to look. A number of Japanese and Hong Kong based retailers sell there, although prices range from reasonable to "holy cow, are they smoking meth?"! Big Grin

Of course, if you're interested in buying things from Yahoo Japan auctions, you can set up an account with a proxy service like Jauce or Rinkya.

I've also had some luck buying stuff at kids' consignment sales. In my part of the US, there are people that hold these sales a few times a year, usually at civic centers or in empty retail spaces. In a similar vein, you can sometimes find stuff at consignment retailers that deal with kids' clothes and toys. Don't expect to find a B20 or General Yoshitsune there but older stuff that was sold in the US, like Thomas or Tomica Hyperrail might be available.

Hello Steffi and welcome aboard. [Image: train-goodbye-smiley-emoticon.gif]

I am assuming that you are looking for new Plarail trains in an Online Shop or Brick & Mortar Store here in the US. Unfortunately the answer would be no as to the best of my knowledge there is none. We did discuss about an Online Store that was in Canada that had some selection of Plarail a while back but I can't find that Link or the discussion. There are several "Fulfilled By Amazon" listings at Amazon where you can get Plarail items shipped from the States. At Amazon type in Plarail in the Search bar, then refine those results to show only Prime. All those results should be shipped from the US and you don't have to have a Prime Account to buy. Otherwise, like the previous responders, your best bet would be new trains from Asia through both Ebay and Amazon MarketPlace's.

If you use the Amazon Prime Search, check back there often as what may be available changes. As always we here at BluePlasticTracks are always willing to help especially since you are just starting into this hobby that so many of us here enjoy so much. Look forward to seeing your collection grow.

I'm from the US as well.
Making Customs, Filming Videos and looking for the purest engines. That's how I roll here on Blue Plastic Tracks.

My Twitter
Hobby search is pretty good. I live in canada. There is an authorized plaraul dealer near my house Smile
Ah Leyland, it was you who gave us the Link to that Seller near you. Can you provide the Link again?
Sadly i lost the business card. I will go there when i have the time.
Do you remember the name of the store?
sorry I can't remember either. I will try to go there when I have time. Right now I am busy at work sadly to pay for the stuff I buy online Tongue
