Anyone heard what the update is on this train or, what it even is? It was supposed to be release Early Feb but that is past. Anyone with more information? http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10430035
Most likely the new Twilight Express Mizukaze.

Thanks Plarnold

I hope you are right as that is what I was banking on but I am getting curious as to why we haven't heard a peep about this.
Is that this one? If so that looks awesome. I will need to get that one if so..Big Grin

More to the point if it is new and not available yet why does Hobby Search have it on 'sale' (i.e. reduced)..? Very odd...
Happily collecting things all my life... Big Grin
That is the Pre-Order, reserve, sale price like they do with all their items listed before release.
Well I must say I am disappointed and lost on my gamble. Since there was no pictures or information about the Loves Fun Train Series Tokubetsu na Twilight Express train I gambled that it would be a model of the new Twilight Express Mizukaze and today I find out at Hobby Search that it is, in fact, just a re-release of the old Twilight Express that is no longer in service. I really don't understand the logic behind releasing this Twilight Express for the FOURTH time and besides the yellow wheels on the first release, are all exactly the same. Whats the point? This new one is not even an upgraded chassis with AA motor as it lists it as still the C battery style. Just don't see the purpose when the new Mitzukaze is ready to launch this June. I just don't get it. Maybe I will be luckier on my next gamble. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10430035

EDIT:
Upon a little further inspection I see a few, little differences in this new release on the engine. The engine number is different on the front, the grey band around the bottom of the engine is wider, the drum head is real and not a sticker and the clip points where you squeeze to remove the shell for the battery is in the middle instead of nearer the front. There may also be a flip out front hook to couple behind other trains. Do you see any more? The coaches, so far as I can see, look exactly the same as the prvious releases. So I am really curious as to why Plarail decided to go through all the trouble of retooling and creating a new engine of something they released 3 other times and for a train no longer in service. Now my gamble is in hopes that this new Twilight Express will pair up with a release of a Plarail version of the Twilight Express Mizukaze that I hope will be released in conjunction with its maiden run in June. Then it will be nice to have the set....oh boy, another gamble.
I have the Kyoto Museum version from last year and I wouldn't mind having this version too. However, it's not a super high priority purchase for me right now.
