Ok, so since picking up a small box of HO trains, track, parts, etc... I have been caught up in the layout building videos. There are several that I have a since subscribed to, but this one is awesome. Great detail and tutorials on several things. A lot of this is pretty new to be and maybe one day I will sell of the Thomas and build my own layout but until this I will keep watching.

This video in particular I went searching for after seeing the completed product. Made from brass and each piece soldered in place it is a work of art. Got my wheels spinning and thinking of cool things to try now.

Thats another hobby all by itself and pretty cool that he took the time to film the whole, long and tedious, process.. At first I wondered why he bothered with the time and trouble of using the brass but I didn't realize until later videos how huge this shed was going to be. Using plastic framing would have made the shed quite flimsy in that size. The finished pictures from within the inside of the shed with the lighting and trains looks so real.

Yeah, I was very surprised seeing the sheer size of the thing. The level of detail is amazing. I have been looking for some of those LEDs now, wondering if they may work for some projects.

The wiring video and some others get into some pretty cool stuff, from adding motors to the switches, adding the toggle switches to control those, and even adding magnets to de-couple the trains in the yard. . Good stuff.

I don't know Super I can see a member here getting seduced into the scale model railways very soon, I wonder what scale you will go for Mr Ripley? Personally I love them all, but for practical reasons will be going for N Gauge when I finally build a permanent layout. Although even a G Gauge is tempting if I had the time

Yeah, I can totally see this too. It is very addicting to watch. I love the DIY stuff and building/tinkering so it is a good fit. I am not sure on which gauge, but it seems like there are tons of trains and accessories for all of them. My dad has a large "O" Gauge layout and tons of trains. Maybe I will inherit that one day. The funny thing is I was around that, N, HO and even Z scale As a kid but never was really in to it.
