Just arrived...Plarail Star Wars Rapit

The box is awesome and the train is beautiful...but... as we were talking about the stickers and lack of windows in the other thread...Plarail dropped the ball here...the windows are still there...under the stickers on each vehicle...which means a slight poke and you can punch a hole through the sticker at each opening. Big mistake as children playing with this will easily puncture the stickers which will probably end up with lots of just black Rapit's out there when the stickers are damaged and removed. Too bad, can't see how this passed quality control, oh well.

That is a real shame Super as it had the potential to be one of the best PlaRails ever if it had been done right. I wonder what the reasoning behind this obvious penny pinching was? I agree if the windows are stil there it makes the sticker idea even worse and is going to result in wrecks of any that fall into the hands of children - mind you who would give these to kids anyway Smile

There are some who would say who would give these to adults Big Grin
i was disappointed by that too, super. the sticker over a ridge is never a good idea. must admit, i did briefly consider the idea of carefully scouring over each window to allow that section of sticker to drop and sit flat, but figured it might look as nice as i thought.
it might not have been so bad if the sticker was a nicer material. as it is, it feels cheap, almost like a dollar store knock off.

needless to say, mine will not see much run time in order to protect the stickers.

Its a good thing you didn't try that Sun as those aren't ridges and there is nothing flat behind it. In the picture you can see the back of the sticker through the windows on the inside.

I would suggest some 'sticky backed plastic' as they call it in the UK is in order, put that over the sticker and it will at least help protect it from damage and scratching Smile

Do you think someone switched jobs from Fisher-Price to Tomy? So far in recent months we have 'stickered' Star Wars just like you'd expect from FP and a disney themed set which implies it would play music only to be found it doesn't. Even the new turntable has 'hot wheels orange plastic' for the track lol!!! I suspect a plot... Confused

I am just curious as to how this was pitched in the board room and how everyone must have agreed it was a good idea. At the very least they should have retooled just a bit so the windows were blocked in under the sticker. Plarail is still tops in my book even though at times it doesn't sound like it.

I would agree Super PlaRail is still great, just they do seem to be making some odd decisions of late.
