What happens when the old track master engines try to climb up tall and steep hills?

I don't know for sure since I've never had a Trackmaster Revolution set, but the older engines wouldn't be able to climb up steep hills on the new track because they were never good on slopes without traction ridges in them, and the new track is designed to fit the new, much bigger and more spread out teeth of new Trackmaster engine wheels, not the rubber traction tires with the many tiny subtle ridges. It wouldn't be able to grip the new track in the same way a new engine can't grip old track.

Ok I'm back from my 1 and a half month break, so you guys are correct, because the old track master track and the new one has different grooves. So oh, you guys saw that Pla rail and old track master engines will take a long time to climb steep hills or they might get down and derail. Is this thing true?
