There are a few videos from the regulars on YouTube that I have seen run the Classic Trackmaster (what I am now calling the original Trackmasters) and/or Tomy on the Revolution tracks with poor results.

I am curious if the new type of Tomy/Plarail Chassis motors are interchangeable, or at least the parts. I only have one of these new types and it came with the newly released Asoboy train that is 2 speed and quite fast. Maybe this idea is a bit late if there aren't going to be many more Thomas and Friends trains from Tomy but if the gears, motors, switch and such could be swapped easily from the new, non-Thomas Tomy/Plarail trains, to the Thomas trains it would give them a boost with 2 speeds as well. Maybe once some of these newer released 2 speed chassis motors start selling used cheaply it would be worth the try at swapping.

That is a huge Transformer guy there. Did he destroy all the Zombies?

Hi Super, that's a very interesting concept of swapping drive units to get 2 speeds, I recall the chassis and drive unit are integral and not sure if locking tabs etc are in the right spots but I would like to try it if I get a non Thomas new type chassis with 2 speeds.
