Jauce Japan Auctions HELP..

I agree, that's terrible. Sorry Nigel.. It would be nice to be able to export and import at a cheaper rate and with not as many fees to be able to trade and purchase those items that are not locally available. And if the shipping prices would just go down that would be awesome.

As for the Japan auctions I may hang back for now, unless it can become a bit clearer. So far it seems like it could get quite pricey and the would be several variables to the cost.

I was quite hesitant for the same reasons you are because I couldn't quite wrap my head around it all but after diving in I loved it especially for those hard to get items. But then again I am not hit with customs and duty fees.

Howdy Ripley!

If it weren't for Super, I probably wouldn't have some of the great TAKARA TOMY Plarail stuff that's in my collection right now!

Pricing can be a bit tricky, especially when it comes to shipping to your home; the most I've ever spent (including bidding, fees [shipping to JAUCE warehouse, repackaging] and overseas shipping) has been roughly $45, and that was on my very first shipment.

I highly recommend Jauce as a way to get discontinued items, or if you just don't feel up to paying the arm and a leg to buy it NIB.

Thanks to Jauce, I've been able to buy lots of track for pennies on the dollar (quite literally), and gradually expand my real world Plarail collection.

Thanks hank.. Do you have any helpful tips on calculating the total cost? I am worried I will get and item for a good deal and the be hit with outrageous shipping fees. The order I purchased from hobby search was close to $30US but was worth it to me since the items were NIB. The translations to English and the detail seem to be lacking. Any tips in this or is it best to just go by the pictures and take a gamble?

I have been looking for Patchwork Hiro for some time and found several on there, but they are pricey although I know this is a rare one.

Thanks again guys.

Howdy Ripley!

I can't really figure out how much the weight can factor into the cost; I can guarantee you that repackaging the items for overseas travel is always 1200 JPY, and that the option for choosing how quickly you can receive your successful wins is always varying. I always defer to the option of letting the JAUCE company choose as, and to this day, they have not scammed with the EMS shipping choice they have done.

Some of the sellers on Jauce list the weight of the items you will win, so it's always beneficial to right that down and have it handy; there is a delivery fee estimator on their website, conveniently located to the left of a service fee estimator, that can help you gauge how much you will possibly spend in getting those items you won.

Well I did it. I have 3 lots coming from Jauce/Japan. I was a bit shocked by the shipping and fees, but for what I am getting I was ok with paying it. When the lots come I will update this thread with my expierence and then also start a new thread for the things I won. Very excited to see these items.

Well you are officially hooked then my friend <img src="http://www.myemoticons.com/emoticons/images/msn/moods/scared.gif" border="0" alt="Scared" title="Scared" />

You have to watch out and understand that buying in bulk from Japan can result in very high shipping fees as bulk purchases, especially those that have lots of track or many trains, tend to weigh in a lot and often come in larger sized parcels. Believe me when I say I know the pain of shipping and the addiction Big Grin Anxious to see what you have coming.

Yeah it was not one of the large junk listed lots but there are several items in one of the lot. Then I got caught up in the 24hr deal on fees so I purchased a track lot from the same seller. Big Grin

More to come...
