Introducing SUPER PINCHY!

Here's a little mod I did with Diesel 10. I hope you enjoy! We had a little help with someone with a 3D printer.

Wow, that is so cool. They were asking for only one hundred thousand and got almost 3 million dollars in Kickstarter pledges. For some reason I pictured 3D printers much larger. Still don't know how they work. Curious as to what a roll of filament costs and how long it lasts?

I realized the focus wasn't very good so that's why I added the verbal description. I'm using my cell phone which doesn't allow up close shots.

I'll try to get some better shots.

After looking at your 3D printer and being curious enough to look into it further I am wondering. Is the 3D printer and materials the least expensive part of 3D printing? Wouldn't one need a 3D scanner and the computer software or Cad program to be able to create the objects? I am interested in this as a Hobby but still not sure yet. Would be great to create new, authentic parts for train modifications or anything for that matter.

Depending on the printer you get, you can spend $200-$20,000+


There are free 3D CAD programs out there. There is a bit of a learning curve with CAD. I've never used a 3D scanner. I don't know if they've improved them. I know in the past the parts produced that were scanned had a lot more bumps/jogs/jags/dips in them.

I intend to make some really custom faces. I have a few video ideas in mind. I have some other parts in mind that I'm not going to disclose right now.

Those teeth fit perfectly. How did your friend get this part into the Cad program, does he have a scanner and once scanned does he then alter in the Cad program before sending that to the printer? Does the printer come with software?
