A Rather Large Favour - HankAmericanEngine - 04-29-2015 Howdy everyone! I've embarked to create a specially painted F-Unit passenger train, but I lack the shell that the red and blue F-Unit diesels have, or the coaches! I have the AmTrak variant, but I would just like a copy of the shell of a red or blue F-Unit locomotive so I can make a nice variant to run on my layout with the AmTrak chassis and motor. If anyone can create a mold of the shell and offer it to me for a decent price, please let me know! RE: A Rather Large Favour - Super - 04-29-2015 They are all the same. If you have the Amtrak and coaches you can make your own mold. RE: A Rather Large Favour - HankAmericanEngine - 04-29-2015 (04-29-2015, 10:20 PM)Super Wrote: They are all the same. I need a mold of the F-Unit though; I don't want to have the one I plan to paint having the word, "AmTrak" visible on its sides. RE: A Rather Large Favour - Super - 04-29-2015 Now I see. Its also not in a very good spot to be able to file down the letters as it is on those ridges. RE: A Rather Large Favour - ROCKINATOR - 04-30-2015 What I would do, is try to find a blue or red F unit (broken, will be cheaper and possibly fixable) and just create the mold off of that. And if I were you, I would cast the shell from aluminum, but then again I also have a metal melting forge and a lot of coal, so it may not be possible for you. RE: A Rather Large Favour - Ucwepn - 04-30-2015 I have a spare red shell Hank, I will have a look later and let you know. |
