top 10 collectables - trevor379 - 01-11-2015 what trains/cars do you think will be highly sought after currently or in the future? for example I truly believe that the pop-out series will be highly sought after and collectable. already out of print and (at this point dated). how often do you see mavis or peter sam? RE: top 10 collectables - HankAmericanEngine - 01-11-2015 There are already some highly sought after Thomas & Friends engines from both TOMY and HiT Toys TrackMaster: TOMY: Murdoch Donald Douglas Oliver Skarloey Sir Handel Duncan Motorized Rocky Mighty Mac Rusty Arthur HiT Toys: Hector Hank Duck in "A Close Shave" Donald Douglas Oliver All "Greatest Moments" engines and accompanying rolling stock The Pack (Motorized and Non-Motorized) RE: top 10 collectables - trevor379 - 01-12-2015 yes, but that's now. how about the future? what does one think? maybe the light-up ones? I wish there were more characters in that line RE: top 10 collectables - Ucwepn - 01-12-2015 yes the light ups were only produced for a short time until they "pulled the plug" on them. And I don't ever recall seeing them for sale in Australia. so they are in the list so to speak. Trackmaster Hank version 2 (loco powered) was also only produced for a short time. Trackmaster Percy version 2 (flat drive unit) only produced for a short time but still available for now. Trackmaster Arry & Bert version 2 (the last of the Trackmaster 1 locos) only produced for a few months and not great sellers, also still available now. The Trackmaster Talking engines from the last couple of years Spencer comes to mind already as not that many were made and they already fetch a premium RE: top 10 collectables - ROCKINATOR - 01-12-2015 I was looking on the toysrus website and I saw a talking spencer there. Didn't pay no attention to it tho. RE: top 10 collectables - JulianTheTankEngine - 01-15-2015 I feel like someone should call fisher price and explain the problem!!! RE: top 10 collectables - HankAmericanEngine - 01-15-2015 Fisher-Price, like all multi-billion dollar companies, will cease manufacturing of certain products that don't sell; I think they noticed that their Talking Engines weren't selling well, and therefore removed them from production. RE: top 10 collectables - trevor379 - 01-15-2015 hmmmm..... me and my son love the talking engines. the new ones seem even better. cant wait to get my hands on them. hope they will make many characters! RE: top 10 collectables - sunhuntin - 01-15-2015 the talkers are neat pieces, but i think a lot of people had trouble with them not rolling. i myself had a james that didnt move. at the time, they had those thick plastic twist ties threaded through the axles to hold them on the cardboard. i think this damaged the drive gears somehow when removed, even when done carefully. then they went to twine. after that, they started putting holes in the wheels with the plastic rods, much better on the axles, but not as attractive.
