Any info on Hector w/Red Coach??
I have seen many w/ the short grey car, but the red coach seems to be from the Hit Toys/ Fisher Price transitional period??

Howdy Muddy Poppins!
To be honest, there were two variants of the HiT Toys TrackMaster Hector; one with the branch line coach, as seen here, and the other with the grey micro bolster wagon.
This one was the first released to the public during the HiT Toys Company's reign of TrackMaster, and the second release followed about 6 months to a full year later.

muddy, until your pics, i didnt know hector had been released this way. my own has the bolster wagon, and was one i nearly didnt get due to him coming with thomas. mum actually got it for me for christmas that year, so was lucky!

I've always found the TrackMaster by HiT Toy Company years quite confusing because of all the variants and not being a very clear way to distinguish two engine lines.
I remember this being a puzzling thing because the release dates were so close and we were so certain the empty Log Car version was the actual version and then an image from another box showed the Red Coach, which took more of us fancy, but that version seemed to be so hard to find. The prototype looks interesting. Looks like it used an R/C Thomas in the image.
