If you follow the pre-order link in the post above, it takes you to a company called Chiba Crowdfunding aka C-Value Crowdfunding, which is simply a channel for the promotion of goods produced in Chiba Province. Their expertise includes "Product planning, sales strategy, web marketing, creative, crowdfunding".

It appears that the Chiba Monorail used this company's resources to host their pre-order sales campaign. There wasn't any actual crowdfunding involved.

Thanks Dr Chris for straightening that out. As for the video, I found the roof details of the Monorail weird instead of just a flat roof. Could it be they are trying to what a real one looks like even though the real roof doesn't even look like in can be seen in real life?

I guess so. Looks like all the miscellaneous boxes that are normally in and below the floor of a conventional train are exposed on the roof of this one. In expectation that they might approximate to the real thing, I had a search and eventually came up with these...

Thanks for this Dr Chris. I guess I should give Plarail kudos for attention to details Buuuut...In this case with thin Plarail rails these details are way more obvious than the real Monorails which are not viewed from above so not noticeable from the human eye...right?
