The NM Collection - NMsTrains - 12-03-2024 The vast majority of these are being purchased for NM, but some are acquired by me (his dad) ![]() I managed to get a Tomica World Virgin HST locally via eBay, it was in a mixed lot but I didn’t know if it would all be there as it was hidden by other items. It’s one for me rather than NM so it’ll be kept away for now until he is a little older. Here I am forty years later with rather more than a few interesting trains! In fact I'm in the process of buying a larger house right now for that very reason. Nice buy though. I expect you'll now be wondering why a supposed Class 43 Virgin Intercity 125 HST carries the number 82100? Another question for you to consider: why does it have a pantograph on the driving car? RE: The NM Collection - Super - 12-03-2024 She looks to be in excellent condition Dad. The Virgin is a nice addition to the future NM and for you too. Dr Chris...A New House...Oh Boy....is it big enough to have a Accumulation Collection Room and/or a Layout Room? Jumping in on this as I'm curious, I have no idea why it carries that number as it doesn't seem appropriate for a class 43, I would have expected something like 43xxx. As for the pantograph that's a bit of a surprise because as I recall the 125 HST was a diesel powered train. Although having said that I do know the east coast line which is where it would likely have operated does have overhead electric lines. You're not going to tell us it was the first real 'hybrid' are you Chris? RE: The NM Collection - chrisjo - 12-03-2024 (12-03-2024, 02:56 PM)Nigels Wrote: Jumping in on this as I'm curious.... I'll make a separate thread so as not to totally hijack NM's Dad's one. RE: The NM Collection - NMsTrains - 12-04-2024 Two new cars that came in the same lot as the Virgin HST, one is a Nissan Skyline and the other a Toyota Crown Majesta Taxi. The Skyline is in good condition, I wish I could say the same about the Taxi. As it stands, it’ll be repainted to represent something closer to home and more in line with the HST. No Police force used a Crown Majesta in the UK but it’ll do for now… that’s for another thread 🤔 ![]() ![]() RE: The NM Collection - chrisjo - 12-05-2024 (12-04-2024, 09:05 PM)NMsTrains Wrote: no Police force used a Crown Majesta in the UK but it’ll do for now… that’s for another thread 🤔 You can see the full range of Tomica World 'Motor Tomica' vehicles here. Note that there is already a sort of UK-style police car in the range. RE: The NM Collection - NMsTrains - 12-05-2024 Well aware of what is available but the Police car doesn’t look like any local ones (our local ones are Battenberg) and to add to that, there aren’t many Police vehicles left in service that carry the Jam Sandwich livery on the Tomica release |
