Custom Glynn - DrMopp1966 - 11-10-2024

I've just spotted the most brilliant Trackmaster Glynn custom and I couldn’t resist sharing https://youtu.be/H4D9DmQ_Y3c
It’s made from a Trackmaster Edward (the version made from 2012-2014 with the separate tender) and despite it’s tiny size he still runs!
The only unfortunate thing is that the battery he uses, despite being smaller than a double-A, has double the voltage of one and so he’s quite the speed demon!

I saw it, and it's one of the best custom TrackMasters I have ever seen. The only bad thing I found of it it's the lack of counterweights, but other than that it looks so cool!

I reckon the chassis could have a plethora of uses too. Neil perhaps, or maybe even Ivor the Engine!

Decided to draw some concepts for potential uses of the chassis design. Ivor, Neil, and perhaps more accurately scaled narrow gauge engines

I like the art Smile

I thought Loziochecreanr's version was cleverly thought-out (built back-to-front with a "Thomas Type"), but this is even more creative. Very similar to how Black64 cut down a Flat DU so it could fit in a Tekoro Philip.

Speaking of which, my only nitpick is he made him ever so slightly too short in length; even compared to Glynn's CGI proportions. The tiny wheelbase makes him a "rough rider" and there's no room for any weights to make him more stable. Had he kept some of the front and made it AAA length like the above Philip conversion, the wheelbase would've performed better and looked more accurate. Other than that, it does show how versatile a modded Flat Type can be compared to most other gearboxes.

@DrMopp1966: If I hadn't transplanted the DU from my own Ivor to remove Salty's talking truck, I could've done much the same thing so he wouldn't have Thomas' proportions. Bill, Ben, Lady and Dart could also benefit from this chassis, as well as the powered tenders for some of the tender drive engines. A Plarail AEG Thomas/Nia would be a great base for Ivor too.

I’m considering making a 3D-printable body shell for Glynn, is that something yall would be interested in?
