Customs for NM - NMsTrains - 11-08-2024 Some of these are custom models, some are simple alterations. Quite a few items have been done before but I hope some are new and inspire others to modify these toys. Picked up one of the newer "All Engines Go" trucks for NM by accident, I didn't know these are a different system when buying it. Face was removed and replaced with a normal CGI troublesome truck face, I had to remove some plastic from the donor face to do so and glue it in place. RE: Customs for NM - NMsTrains - 11-19-2024 For some reason, I’ve got quite a few Toad models and there are only so many duplicates you can have of a character like that. Using a razor saw, you can cut the model in two and make a sort of GWR Tool Van. This does leave me with two canopy ends, which will be used in a future custom that I have ordered the parts for. RE: Customs for NM - Super - 11-19-2024 Nice work and idea! 👍 RE: Customs for NM - vampirebrat - 11-20-2024 Just gotta fill in the windows and yeah that's one good van. Very very clever RE: Customs for NM - NMsTrains - 11-21-2024 I’ll be leaving the windows as they are, some GWR Tool Vans did have end windows and I’ll be painting it in Chocolate & Red anyway to match GWR practice. https://www.flickr.com/photos/svr_enthusiast/40234651673 https://www.emgauge70s.co.uk/project_crane-toolstaff.html RE: Customs for NM - NMsTrains - 11-22-2024 Filler and sanding, then a coat of primer to show imperfections. Will place doors on the sides to cover the saw gap, the roof will be filled until there is no visible join. I’ve ordered the parts to adapt the remaining Toad parts, hoping that it will all work correctly as planned. RE: Customs for NM - Super - 11-22-2024 Looking good NMs 👍 RE: Customs for NM - NMsTrains - 11-24-2024 I wasn’t happy with the panel gap on the Tool Van so had a look for what would work, I had this spare Hornby van body about which does the job 👍 Leftover parts will be for a more serious model, once this is complete and roof is nice and flush, it’ll be painted in GWR livery. RE: Customs for NM - Super - 11-24-2024 Excellent work...I like it 👍 |
