Plarail Marunouchi Station Building (Tokyo Station) - KNDYNT2099 - 09-08-2024

Omotyannerun just posted his video of the Marunouchi Station Building.  What do you guys think?  In a way, now seeing his video, I'm probably not going to buy this anymore.  It looks cool on the Plarail website via the small photos but seeing his video, not really liking it all that much.

What is it that you don't like KNDY?

I think its the size ratio.  To have the Plarail almost the size of the building and even if you want to take a photo of the Plarail kid next to it, doesn't look right.

The detail is very nice and I like how it can connect to that rear piece, so the pieces of the building snap too it.

But I feel Takara Tomy has put more effort into their Tomica World-related structures to work with both Tomica and Plarail, but this structure probably works better with Plarail Advance than standard Plarail.

The other thing that I think that Takara Tomy has hit the home run with is listening to parents of wanting a way for the product to be easily cleaned up after kids are done playing with it.  No lost parts.

For example, the inexpensive 7-Eleven Tomica World released last year, while it has stickers, there is so much more detail and it would work with Plarail.  Easy cleanup.

With that being said... the reasons why I wanted the Marunouchi Station Building is primarily because I spent so much time at this station (outside of Ikebukuro Station) the most and the Marunouchi area is where I visit a lot.

I have photographed the Marunouchi Station Building the most than any other station building inside and out.  It is one of the best meeting locations to meet friends.  Almost all shinkansen I take is in this building.  It's also next door to the KITTE building which has some of the top rated ramen and soba.  And Marunouchi shopping centers where I catch many live performances.

But yeah....it's cool that there is now a Plarail Marunouchi Station Building.  As much as I want it for the sake of me enjoying Tokyo Station so much, it seems like a building, if I did buy it, find away to incorporate it to my NGauge diorama due to the size rather than Plarail.

Thats exactly what I thought about the Plarail Marunouchi Station Building and why I never pursued getting one. Te scale may be fitting for the old Plarail Advance series but would like to hear from someone who has both to see if this theory is true.

That is a neat idea on that 7 Eleven store, never realized that they had that storage before.
