I really am interested in that Tamiya Mini Motor 4 Speed Gear Box not for a train but to add movement to custom buildings and such in a layout. I already ordered one to check it out. What I need is a translation of those 3v battery packs...can anyone translate what that set is actually called in the image below as I would like to take a closer look at those too.

The title says it is "five 3.7v 400mAh lithium batteries including one charger." The other letter and number combos must be different brand's numbering for this type - looking for h99 battery, h31 battery etc returns these type. The later part says it "applies to rotorcraft airplane model drone battery spare parts"

Fantastic help Duckster, Thank You 😃 From the Amazon Link you so graciously provided me, this doesn't look like something that would interest me although the size and price certainly fit the bill. Why I don't think it would work is that you either have to remove the battery pack to charge it or open the device its in to do a recharge. Although just sitting here writing this reply maybe the plug end of the battery unit can be affixed to the item being powered and the charger plugged in without removing or opening the item. Or.....if the building or whatever is housing a motor is big enough to have an access area to be easy to open and get to and simply swap out a used battery for one already charged. Hmmmm

Did just noticed that the Mini Motor Gear Box in the video is 3 volts and the battery pack is 3.7 volts and its wired without resistors...hmmm, would that blow any 3 volt LED's connected to the same motor...I wonder

Received the mini gearbox and I am surprised at....how mini it is lol. The photo shows the motor unit next to the normal Plarail motor unit which is much larger, I wasn't expecting that but I like it small 😁

I haven't got into the assembly yet or perusing the instructions but by just looking at the pictures...how is there 4 speeds and how to change them are the first questions that come to my mind.

By "four speeds", they mean there are four different ratios to choose from when dis/assembling the gearbox (each one obviously requiring a different configuration). I don't get how Hirox1955 made his engines two-speed (not four) with only a SPDT switch and no extra component that would affect the voltage. Unless he just took the gearbox apart and rebuilt it before showing the higher/lower speed.

Thanks LaG I will have to look into the assembly instructions closely and possibly test each configuration to see the speed that suits my use.
