Mr. Motorman issue... again? - Ron Thunderr - 04-09-2023

Hello everyone,
Since im a huge fan of Mr. Motorman and in the past days finally had the time to properly play with it I noticed that many times the trains become unresponsive to the controllers commands.  Ive tried alot of different receivers(m2, m3, m4) and controllers(units and types). Anyone else have this issue?

Cheers Ron

I am not entirely sure as I haven't played with the Mr Motorman I have that much but if its like some of the earlier Plarail R/C's make sure that the Receiver is not blocked my anything like buildings or tunnels which could interfere with the signal. I do remember that one of the issues I didn't like about the Mr Motorman is that it wasn't instantaneous as it would take a moment for it to react to a command.

What exactly do you mean with earlier Plarail R/C's? Which one? Ive been playing around for the last hour with different controllers and for some reason now that youve mentioned that it needs a moment to react it it works alot better! Needs more testing though... If the only reason the trains were unresponsive is me being too quick on the controllers then id be suprised but not mad about it!

Earlier Plarail R/C's like the one pictured below but now that I think of it those were controlled by infrared signals where the signals could be interrupted even if someone walked between the controller and train. If you had a very large Layout the train could get out of range if it was too far away. Mr Motorman uses radio signals I believe so isn't as sensitive to interference.

Very interesting set, havent seen that one yet. Yes, Mr. Motorman uses RF signals instead of IR but I guess I just got a wrong feeling of the controllers.

Yes, the lack of an immediate response with the Mr Motorman turned me off. Was hard to stop exactly at a station.

Even if this isnt Densha de GO!, that is indeed very frustrating. Thanks for the tip tho
