Curious About YouTube Shorts? - Super - 08-31-2022 I really dislike all these YouTube 'Shorts' that seems to now be about 70% of my search results for Plarail. I am curious as to what the benefits are for the YouTuber and video maker? Also they seem to all be recorded with a cell phone because the videos are in the long and narrow style. Are these shorts just so they can be viewed quickly on a phone? Does anyone know a way to block them in the YouTube Search function? Seems like lately I see Youtubers just taking a snippet from their already posted videos to do these. Could it just be for clicks and views? Do these Shorts also bring in money with Ads? Seems like if they did that it would defeat the purpose of a Short. Any thoughts? I don't have a problem with them , as if you have a idea that results in a video in 60 seconds or less they can help to separate these from the rest of the videos. But I don't get why people use these to show clips from their videos. I think it's YouTube's way to compete with other platforms that suport shorter videos, but in that case why not just use those. The fact that 70% of the results are shorts is annoying. After all of this, they must bring in some money as otherwise why do them, and not just post a video.
