An ode to the others - trevor369 - 05-28-2022 So much has changed since the beginning to the present. We have all seen these trains adapt in so many ways. But I do think that the time has come. And I for one think that it is long overdue. To appreciate and recognize the others. After all? Thomas the train? Well, he is a train. But how about the others? The non-battery operated or the non-train? There have been so many over the decades. What are you favorites? Your "hard to finds"? Your wish list? However, you choose "rolling"/motorized/coaches? The only requirement is that the toy has a face. For example? Mighty Mac, a wonderful piece. One of a kind. A must have! He is non-battery operated, but he is a train. Or Emerson! A non-train and non-battery operated? Henrietta a coach. However, non-battery operated and not a train. Your thoughts? RE: An ode to the others - TrainsRawesome - 05-28-2022 Mighty Mac is certainly a fantastic one. I love the 3d face Hit Toy rolling stock (Toad, S.C. Ruffey) too. Alfie of course is on my wishlist, but he doesn’t look the best. RE: An ode to the others - trevor369 - 05-28-2022 @trainsRawsome Mighty mac has got to be one of the most unique trains in the line! Nothing like it since its debut. Nothing like it since! A wonderful piece! but let us dig deeper? How about Rocky? Sometimes battery operated? Sometimes not? Not a train, not "necessarily" a rolling vehicle? ! RE: An ode to the others - Therealblack64YT - 05-29-2022 I would say I like trackmaster hit toy Byron Kelly tomy Terrence etc and as for my Wishlist well I mostly have engines I need to get to replace older models I have and new additions for a larger variety as a side note I would say that I like some take along and take n play vehicles as they are good and I plan on getting a few more such as Kevin and maybe some more another idea I had was getting a bootleg jack and making a custom 3D somewhat accurate model and using the wheels too (I really need to start some of these thoughts) RE: An ode to the others - trevor369 - 05-29-2022 What I am really trying to do in this tread? Is to create a "group" photo. An ode to the others. In order to do this I would like to know? What the "others" mean to you. let me try to demonstrate a perspective. Here is a piece that is a "true" anomaly. Almost everyone here knows of this "piece/train". Yet! This particular "piece/train" seems to be forgotten. Yet! This particular "piece/train"? Still exists. With little to no credit. break down train? Anybody remember him/her? No face. But definitely! It would be extremely hard to NOT recognize this particular "piece"? Yet! It is a "piece" that all of us recognize! Is this a "rolling vehicle"? A train? OR... AN "ode to the others"? Muddy? can you help me with this endeavor? to be continued... |
