One of my favorites, congratulations T-Raw and it looks to be new in its unique box.

RE: Chrome 583 - chrisjo - 01-17-2022

In Japan this is known colloquially as the 'USA version Sleeper Limited Express', and first appeared in October 2003. There are three variants, 'light colour', 'dark colour', and this silver one.

Originally made for Tomy USA as per the text on the box, and believed to be shareholder hand-outs, they were imported into Japan either from the US or direct from Thailand, and sold at the Tenshodo HbF store, Ikspiari Shopping Centre, Maihama Station, which is where you get off for Tokyo Disneyland.

They are the three on the left in this photo...

Edit: In answer to the question below, no I don't. Until they were all sold? Shy

RE: Chrome 583 - TrainsRawesome - 01-17-2022

Thanks for the info, chrisjo! Do you know for how long they were sold?

RE: Chrome 583 - TrainsRawesome - 01-28-2022

It arrived! I really want to take it out of the plastic but I also have qualms about doing so, as the value would go down... ah decisions, decisions Sad

RE: Chrome 583 - Super - 01-28-2022

She is a beauty. How do you like the exclusive colored wheels?

RE: Chrome 583 - MuddyPoppins - 01-28-2022

Awesome! It won’t matter that much if you open it, it’s rarity will never decrease, and as long as you keep it pristine, it’ll always appreciate.
Just wear gloves, or be sure to wipe it down really good if you do touch the chrome surface.
Natural body oils from your fingertips could cause chemical reactions depending on your own personal acidic PH level, and having to wipe off finger prints always creates the risk of scratches and surface abrasions.

@Super The dark green wheels are pretty cool. Normally they’d be a bit weird but they look awesome on this model!

@Muddy Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely make sure to wear gloves when handling it.
