He did a nice job on those. Last year I was trying to do something similar with the Trackmaster Smelter Cars with an LED and Coin batteries but gave up on the idea when trying to disassemble the pot and finding space for a coin battery.

Have you explored the Plarail version of this, like the one that comes with Hurricane?

RE: Glowing molten steelworks ladle car - Super - 11-19-2019

That is an idea but after looking at the car I see the load doesn't have a translucence to it for a light to be seen and the movement (tipping) would probable have to be neutralized. Might there be any others?

He has used the wagons that come with TMR Steelworks Hurricane, their tops are definitely transparent.

Yes, I'll come clean, I do own some TMR / Trackmaster II (hangs head in shame). I guess that'll be a killer for you? Maybe the superstructure could be grafted onto a more acceptable chassis?

RE: Glowing molten steelworks ladle car - Super - 11-19-2019

LOL...you are right about the killer. There were several pieces of rolling stock of Trackmaster II trains that I attempted to modify or be able to remove the bulk of what was on them and install them on a Plarail/Trackmaster chassis but except for Lexi's Oil Tender I had no luck as a lot of them have parts molded right to their short, light weight chassis.
