Plarail in Korea - 프라레일 - Finno - 09-15-2019 On my first reco mission in Seoul I thought I would try the well known Toy Street and some of the shops down there. As usual plenty of Tomica cars and there was a bit of Thomas represented but no vanilla Plarail. Here's some pics from that street. Next stop, always the fall back - Toys R Us, to see if I can find the KTX. RE: Plarail in Korea - 프라레일 - Super - 09-15-2019 Oh Wow...they have a street with just toy shops....priceless. I would need a large shopping cart to browse down that street. A question comes to mind about past Korean only Plarail releases. Wonder how many there are and what they are. Thanks for sharing. RE: Plarail in Korea - 프라레일 - Finno - 09-15-2019 Well I got to the closest Toys R Us. It's actually a part of the 6th floor in Lotte Mart Department Store near Cheongnyangni station (in case anyone is ever using this for reference). They didn't have a massive range but yes, they had Plarail (and Tomica) and I got my KTX! I opted for the train and not the basic set which doesn't have the middle carriage. I also grabbed a few Tomica cars, including the 4D police cruiser and some mini Shinkansen. Here are some pics in store: RE: Plarail in Korea - 프라레일 - Super - 09-15-2019 Thats a lot of eye candy Finno RE: Plarail in Korea - 프라레일 - Finno - 09-22-2019 (09-15-2019, 02:45 PM)Super Wrote: Thats a lot of eye candy Finno Before I left I managed to go to another Toys R Us in the Lotte Mart near the Seoul World Tower. This one had even more Plarail than the other one and quite a big Thomas section too. So, more eye candy for you: Notice the Plarail brand on some of these is written in English and some is in Korean. RE: Plarail in Korea - 프라레일 - Nigels - 09-22-2019 So how do the prices compare in Korea to the rest of the world? RE: Plarail in Korea - 프라레일 - AOF04 - 09-22-2019 20,000 won US $17 dollars, UK GBP 14 Pounds, JP 1800 yen RE: Plarail in Korea - 프라레일 - Finno - 09-22-2019 (09-22-2019, 06:18 PM)Nigels Wrote: So how do the prices compare in Korea to the rest of the world? As per AOF04, the standard train price was KRW24,800 which is about AUD$30, USD$20, GBP16, EU18. I mostly take note of Aussie conversions but this is typical of what I have seen in China, Singapore, HK for a new standard train (not limited edition or collectors). Sometimes in China and HK I have seen a little cheaper (AU$24) but only on occasion. The absolute worst prices I see are on eBay. Some sellers just try their luck I think. It's always my last resort. RE: Plarail in Korea - 프라레일 - Super - 09-23-2019 That is some nice eye candy Finno...makes my mouth water The Korean Language Plarail on the box does look strange. Is it in Korean on the front and English on the back? |
