I believe the C-57 is the only (non Thomas) Plarail steamer that is, what I call a 'Push' train as opposed to a 'pull' engine. Like the original Hank, Molly, Mighty Mac and Murdoch in the Thomas line. There are a couple of variations of the C-57 but all are Tender driven as far as I know.. RE: steam train - Super - 06-20-2019 The engine has the rubber tires on it so that the traction rods move easily and the tenders rubber is for the drive. Hope to see you around more Bollard. RE: steam train - bollard - 06-20-2019 ah yes, makes sense, why didn't i think of that. as for being around more things didn't turn out the way i expected, my brother in law has a boy and i needed something for him to play with when they visited, i recalled how good our boy's tomy was, since given away. that's why i got a set and a bit carried away buying additional items. next time the nephew visited he wasn't interested preferring our boy's old electric set which i had found in the meantime. now i can't really get the set out because it upsets the dog - can't win
