Talking Percy Track Master Not Working - Roblue1091 - 11-07-2018 Ok so I bought a Talking Percy with Red Coal Truck a few days ago and he wont turn on nothing zip dead. I swapped the old batteries to new opened him up the motor is free . There is what looks like some corrosion on the memory board the old batteries leaked a little but all wires and solder connections look good any ideas Is he one for the scrap pile Or can he be revived? RE: Talking Percy Track Master Not Working - ripley802 - 11-07-2018 It could be a variety of things that is causing the issue but if the motor works but there is no sound, my guess would be either a faulty speaker or possibly the whole circuit board is dead. I would also check the “safety switch” which from your picture I believe is the small square black (with yellow wires) piece. This is the switch that needs to be depressed in order for the train to move. I have seen this go bad as well. RE: Talking Percy Track Master Not Working - Roblue1091 - 11-07-2018 From playing around with it the “safety switch” is not depressed in any way I dont think there was any thing holding it down. There where no lose parts inside when I opened it up the board from the looks of it are caked in crud any way to clean a board like this? So I take it if its a dead board or switch he is spare parts then. The parts seeing as how its a out dated model are hard to come by lol |
