Interesting Train Station - Super - 10-19-2018 Anyone seen one of these Train Stations in this old layout video? Not sure what, where or who made this but I like it. RE: Interesting Train Station - leylandvictory2 - 10-19-2018 looks like a custom made. RE: Interesting Train Station - Off The Rails - 10-19-2018 Now THAT is really cool! RE: Interesting Train Station - PlarailTown - 10-19-2018 I think is Knapford Station with some customs RE: Interesting Train Station - Super - 10-19-2018 If its a custom then its some of the best custom work I have seen on any building piece made out of plastic. RE: Interesting Train Station - Off The Rails - 10-19-2018 It’s interesting because it has some characteristics of both the Plarail and Trackmaster versions of Knapford Station, yet it doesn’t really resemble either of them. One thing I noticed right away is that the roof domes are wide enough to cover two tracks, whereas Knapford’s are more narrow and doubled over each two track section. They are also light blue, similar to the Trackmaster version but full length, more like the Plarail version. ‘Tis mysterious! RE: Interesting Train Station - Nigels - 10-19-2018 It is definitely a 'version' of the original Knapford station from the look of things, except the support structure is white instead of green and of course the glass domes are a bit different. I wonder is it is made maybe from an HO model or similar in the Knapford style or if indeed it is a custom - maybe even a very early 3D print. I've seen models listed online for 3D items that are 5-6 years old, so I suppose they may have been around, or a commercial printer engaged by someone with a goodly wedge to splash on the hobby RE: Interesting Train Station - Super - 10-20-2018 Although in a similar vein, in comparing it to my Knapford Stations, the one in the video has no parts that are the same. The domes are totally different for sure. Just have a gut feeling that this is from some other type of train system like Nigel says. The tracks don't look to be attached and there looks to be a flat brown floor under them. I wonder if the maker of that video is still around but the video is 11 years old. RE: Interesting Train Station - chrisjo - 10-20-2018 If I was going to scratch-build those domes, I would make the curved section from thin flexible acryllic sheet, and form it over two semi-circular end cut from thicker rigid acryllic sheet. The glazing lines would be added using charting / graphic art tape (I have 1/64" width in a variety of colours, made by Formaline). I think this would be a relatively simple project. another source of narrow tape, for example: https://www.amazon.com/64-Whiteboard-Gridding-Pannel-Pinstriping/dp/B000CCJPCA RE: Interesting Train Station - Super - 10-21-2018 This station looks to be in only this video of this YouTuber as later video releases show the Plarail/Tomy Knapford Station we are use to seeing. Even though this video is 11 years old it looks like this Channel is still alive. Wish I knew Japanese as I would ask this YouTuber for more details about this Station. |
