What are these? - kmott - 03-29-2018

Hi Y'all, I just got these in a bag of trains I got on craigs list. Can you help me figure them out. James head spins around and he has these tabs on the bottom.
Thanks

The top pic, I believe goes to the Trackmaster Castle Quest set, and the others is Trackmaster Flip face Talking James. The switches are activated by a special track piece that make his face flip around.

Yep that is a HitToys Flip-face talking James from the Hiro of the Rails series.

Here is an example of the triggering track needed for all the Flip Face Trains (I think). Others would know for sure but I also think you two in the Layout some where so the face can flip back. There are different track pieces with the triggering device like this one, a 1/2 length track, and a switch point (maybe a curve?)...am I right about any of this fellows?

thanks Super, you're (once again) a step ahead of me. I found out info online and of course we use the blue tomy tracks. I have tried to religiously stay away from any other tracks. I could just imagine the confusion, not to mention my wife's reaction at seeing 'another kind of track'
Then I look at the little flippers under the train and imagine my 3 and 5 y/o with them. this one might go away for a while, lol.

I have had a couple instances of the flip pieces snap off which is very bad as there are not replacements made for them that I know of. I even tried casting a new one from a mold and resin but I did not turn out well. Sleepy
