Today's Hornby Deliveries... - Nigels - 03-21-2018

Following on from my recent posts here's a few things that turned up in the post today Smile

To start we have a larger loco, this is a 4-6-0 'Castle' Class loco depicted as 'Blenheim' in early British Rail livery, this is a particularly nice model and a class which I'd not got one of until now Smile

Next up is an early BR liveried version of the little Class 06 Diesel, as such it is painted in BR Green, note it also lacks the yellow/black markings.

My next one is not actually a Hornby, it is a Bachmann J72 class 0-6-0 tank locomotive in LNER black livery, very nice and detailed model Smile

This next one is quite special, although it is based on one of the normal Hornby 0-4-0 steam loco's this one is a special edition only available to 'Hornby Collectors Club' members (although like with this one some individuals sell them on eBay). This one was liveried to celebrate the recent Queen Elizabeth 2 celebrations, it is actually in a very dark burgendy red, which doesn't come though too well on the pics. But as you can see overall its a lovely little train Smile

Next up are a few assorted wagons including a cute little tanker which will probably appeal to Super Smile

Last but not least are two more of the little 0-4-0 Class 0F steam locomotives in particularly nice liveries. These are one of my favourite little loco's as they are incredibly well made and solid and excellent little runners Smile

That Blenheim is beautiful and you are right about that Tanker but what really drew my eye is that Speedfreight Boxcar, the riveting is lovely and I love rivets. The box actually looks to be a bit weathered, is that what it looks like to you! All in All, a great haul of locomotives.

Beautiful locos! That 0-4-0 collectors model was used as a 4 wheeled thomas at one stage

Funny you should mention that Boxcar Super, I really like that one as well, as you say it does look a little weathered, but that is not an effect added it is simply that it is a quite old wagon with a little 'play wear'. But it definitely adds to the realism look, which on that particular wagon seems to really work well. Some I don't think its so good, but that is a nice one.

Thanks Ucwepn, they are indeed lovely and you're right about the 4 wheeled Thomas there was indeed one at one time. In fact they are still readily available on eBay in the UK as is most Hornby models Smile
