Some More Hornby 00 Gauge - Nigels - 03-19-2018 Ok, well following on from my recent additions here's a few more, the first is a GWR 0-6-0 steamer, pretty much like a 'Duck' I guess I've never owned one up till now for some reason, but I'm glad to have finally added this one which is in lovely condition. Again its not a new model, instead its one from a set sold during 1980-81 (37 years old, who would believe it ), there are also pictures of the wagons that came with it; Next up is a 0-4-0 tank steam engine, this is depicted as a LSWR locomotive. This is probably the same model that UCEWPN mentioned he had a couple of. A very popular model which Hornby has published in various liveries over the years and still does to this day. This particular one is a fairly recent vingtage being of chinese manufacture, although I don't know the actual year as I've not looked it up yet. For reference you can tell the newer Chinese models as they have blackened and more fine drive rods on the driving wheels as well as other little detail tweaks You'll also see a few new wagons as well which came with it as a little bundle including the Hornby limited edition 1997 wagon (they do one every year) this time in the form of a tanker... RE: Some More Hornby 00 Gauge - Super - 03-20-2018 My favorites are that Texaco Tanker and the LSWR 709 engine. RE: Some More Hornby 00 Gauge - Nigels - 03-20-2018 Yes the livery on that LSWR engine is nice, that design (called a Holden btw) is just one of literally hundreds you can get, but its definitely in my top 10 hence why I added it to the collection. The wagons were just a bonus to go with it Also while I think of it, the models are nowhere as dusty as they look in the photo's the nature of the close up + some light on them shows it up way more than it does to the eye, if you look at them normally they look spotless lol!! |
