Some good, some bad, but Christmas came early!! - ripley802 - 12-13-2017

Just a teaser right now, I will have an unboxing video hopefully later tonight or in the morning. Big Grin

This was 11 auction wins. I had been waiting to ship so they would combined the lots but they ended up shipping in 3 boxes..Dodgy as you can imagine this cost a small fortune. If I would not have won the last auction which was a bunch of junk basically I think this would have been a bit better of a haul, but I am still stoked on some of the items..

Fantastic Ripley, thank you for the video as it brought back my own memories of unboxing huge amounts of trains which I will not experience again. Do you have enough Steamers now SmileWinkBig Grin

Thanks Super. Yep I think I have enough for now. Big Grin. I was outbid on the C62-18 I was bidding on and there are a few others I may try and get, but really happy to have found the Tandem C62 set. That said, unfortunately they need repairs, but no worries I should be able to fix them up. Cool

Despite all the steamers, only D10 and Red Bulgy really catch my eye. Haul is impressive tho

Nice haul there Mr Ripley, although I dread to think of the cost of sending all that lol!

Thanks Nigel. Yeah, it was not cheap...Dodgy hoping to sell some off though and make a bit of return.

It looks like a gorilla handled the boxes!?!?...oh my!!

Yeah, the bottom box which had most of the things I wanted to keep was smashed in. It also had minimal packing.. to my surprise though nothing was really to far broken. The TnA D10 which was actually in the good box has the chassis for the rear splatter car snapped off just dangling by the wires..Dodgy I will need to get creative on that repair.

I got one of the C62 sound cars working the other day. Not sure if anyone else has had one of these apart but they are somewhat complex. This one seemed like it was only cut wires. But as I opened it up I realized that someone had tried repairs. As such the (+) speaker connection on the circuit board was gone, as in the part to solder to. Dodgy I was thinking back to the TnA repairs and Tramp mentioned tracing the etching on the board to see where it may go and the connection could be made there possibly. Sure enough I was able to connect it on a different spot and heard the sound for the first time. Big Grin. I need to compare with a good working one to see if there is distortion or if that is just how it sounds. I have one more sound unit that I will be repairing so that and YouTube videos should do the trick.
