Something Old Thats New to Me - Super - 03-04-2017 Of late, it amazes me when I see something that I haven't come across before given at how much research I have done over the last few years. Here looks to be an early version of a sound station that is new to me but old in years. At least it looks old and the asking price may be an indication of its rarity. Might anyone have a picture of the D51 sound play set this came with? http://www.jauce.com/auction/e214841601 RE: Something Old Thats New to Me - ROKMAN1445 - 03-08-2017 It might be for a 0 series Shinkansen, as even NYC 999 barely broke 100.5 in the late 1890s. RE: Something Old Thats New to Me - plarnold - 03-09-2017 It is called the "Plarail D-51 Sound Play-along Set". Released in 1991. Contents of the set: - D-51, tender, 2 x passenger cars (blue) - Green tunnels - two pieces (the ones where you can take apart) - 3 x single block girders - 2 x sets of red bridges - The sound stations - 1 x red level crossing (no sound) - 2 x points (A and B, one of each) - 2 x A curve rise - 1 x B curve rise - 4 x pantograph (red) - 1 x lights - 2 x plastic trees (green) - 3 x 1/2 length straight - 2 x full length straight - 7 x curve tracks - stickers The station has 7 different sounds. -plarnold RE: Something Old Thats New to Me - Super - 03-09-2017 Plarnold to the rescue again, thanks buddy. RE: Something Old Thats New to Me - plarnold - 03-09-2017 Useful engines help each other. Updated the post with the release year. It seems like it is a relatively recent release (1990s is considered quite new by my measure). -plarnold RE: Something Old Thats New to Me - MuddyPoppins - 03-09-2017 (03-09-2017, 06:40 AM)plarnold Wrote: Useful engines help each other.Lol...1990 was 27 years ago! RE: Something Old Thats New to Me - Super - 03-09-2017 Thanks Plarnold For some reason, in my mind, I associate all things demarcation line as 1995 which, in my silly opinion, is the year that changed the world. This was the year Windows 95 came out and was the beginning of having computers in everyones homes and the start of the information Era. |
