The Smashed-up Trackmaster Thread - WoodWheel92 - 12-15-2016

Crashed. Smashed. Chunks clawed or missing, wheels bent and axles rusted, I'm betting we've seen it all. However, I wasn't able to find a thread dedicated to showing off those tormented trains here on Blue Plastic Tracks, until now.

I invite you all to share your battered and worn TOMY and Trackmaster trains, stock, etc. here, share battle stories or what have you.

I'll start off with a relatively new Trackmaster Revolution Thomas (second-hand, has received 'Thomas love' before me) which I recently acquired. I wasn't going to initially, but then I saw the front...

...and with a fondness for Season 4 of the show, I had to have it.

The running board's been bent so much it has cracked! I haven't seen a Trackmaster Revolution loco with that kind of punishment given to it before! Have you?

I've (usually) made sure to keep the ones I still have in very good shape. However, I do remember some serious customization failures from when I was much younger. For instance, I used to use 'correction fluid' to create white running boards and handrails, and red markers for boiler bands. My poor Tomy Edward was totally ruined by this. So much so, I remembered to pick up a 2012 Edward when I spotted it in Hamleys in 2013. Thankfully, I was never one of those kids that used to "Biff and Bash" their toys to the point of destruction.

Wow. Did that Thomas really come with a warped, cracked footplate in the box? Either the new TrackMaster really is just Zbala ("rubbish"), or someone ripped open the box at whatever store it was in, took Thomas out and crashed him into something hard. If that's the case, then whoever they were should get a very serious telling off if not reported to authorities. However, even though it came damaged, you still fixed the buffers, coupling and headlamp as if it were normal.

Oh, no! I forgot to mention it was second-hand. Local Craigslist seller had this Thomas. It's the "Reds Vs Blues" version, hasn't been around so long. Somebody must have seriously biffed and bashed it! Have updated original post with that info so as to avoid confusion. Smile

Sorry to hear about that Edward... it's things like that which make me cautious to customize.. I do't want to mess up and ruin it!
