jang is a bit of a lego legend, much like some of our members here. i quite often turn to his review videos if im looking at a set but want to know more about it.

Me too, can you imagine how many $'s are invested in that little lot? Bet you could buy quite a nice car with the value lol!

Could be right there, although you can get a whole lego set for ~£100 whereas an 00 Gauge loco is around that the lego track costs a bundle in comparison to normal 00 Gauge so overall the lego layout could easily cost more...

I've got something in the works made out of Lego: a Tobu 2000 series. It's a rough comparison, but it looks kinda like it. I also attempted to make a 6-axle non-powered SD-9 a few years ago, and I'm revisiting this model and giving it new details like a horn and clear windows(They were just black 1x4's).

Yes Lego trains are a lot cheaper. A $200 dollar HO/OO set has a few cars, a decent locomotive, and a circle of track. A $200 Lego train set has all sorts of things like switches, vehicles, and even with all these things, it has a great train. But, the assembly of these sets for me is usually saved for Ney Year's Eve because I stay up an extra 3 hours.

Nice one Rok, I'm considering having a go at making an A4 steamer if I can get hold of enough of the right type and colour of brick. Should be possible, but one thing I need to locate are some decent wheels like used on the Emerald Express.
What I did find (and buy) the other day was this set by Ausini, after the other one I bought I'm more than happy to get others by this maker. But this one I jumped at as it is basically a Santa Fe (no idea of the number etc... as I'm not that into American Outline) but at a much cheaper price than the old genuine Lego version
