Bash & Dash true story - MuddyPoppins - 11-04-2016 I've been meaning to share this funny bit of info for a while, and finally found some spare time.. The original "Gypsy" steamer The Bear Harbor #1 is the engine that Bash & Dash are modeled from. It is one of only two left in existence, "The Falk" #1 being the other. The Bear Harbor sat for many years and fell into disrepair. Many more years later it was restored, but it was missing it's front headlamp, so a movie theater stage lamp was used and affixed to it. The lamp is still part of the beautiful little engine to this day, and it is also the lamp that Fisher Price included when they copied it to replicate Bash and Dash. RE: Bash & Dash true story - DalaGStanator - 11-04-2016 For anyone curious, this is what their specific basis looks like: I'm not surprised the characters' wheels were not actually connected in Nitrogen Studios' render; It's a bit difficult to see where the axles connect. Also, the yarding mechanism that would normally be at the front (as in the photo above) was moved to the back of the cab (most likely due to the face[s]). The cab itself is open, whereas B&D have enclosed cabs. RE: Bash & Dash true story - MuddyPoppins - 11-04-2016 Yes their cabs look more like The Faulk #1 to me..
