lego winter village train set - sunhuntin - 08-06-2016 first pic released of this years set. hate to say, but ive spent more on lego than thomas this year as the offerings have been amazing, and this is no different. http://brickfinder.net/2016/08/06/lego-winter-holiday-train-sneak-peek/ RE: lego winter village train set - ripley802 - 08-06-2016 That looks really cool. If only Legos were not so dang expensive. RE: lego winter village train set - Ucwepn - 08-06-2016 Looks really good think it will it be motorized? Definitely on a mainly lego theme at the moment haha RE: lego winter village train set - DalaGStanator - 08-06-2016 About time LEGO releases another steam engine. No, it would have to be redesigned in order to fit Power Functions, but it's interesting that they decided to make a 4-2-0 (because 4-4-0s are cliché). However, it could be motorised for the 9V system. Needless to say, the engine is far superior to 10173's (train itself is not as good and the caboose is too tall). Come to think of it, it somewhat reminds me of: . RE: lego winter village train set - Nigels - 08-06-2016 Looking good Sun, add that to the yearly 'christmas village' buildings they've been doing in recent years and you could have a true christmas themed village. I just hope it is either motorised or can have the motor fitted to complete it. I already got a bunch of lego stuff (surprise, surprise) including several of their loco sets such as the passenger train, high-speed train, Maersk train etc... RE: lego winter village train set - sunhuntin - 08-06-2016 surprisingly enough, this will be the first lego train i buy. my brother has an old 9V one here somewhere which i will dig out. im hoping to make this new one fit that chassis, as a push train doesnt have as much value to me. the set here will likely be $150+, and then add around $50 for the PF kit. least i hopefully wont have to pay shipping as i want to buy it with the disney castle, which stores here wont be getting. RE: lego winter village train set - Nigels - 08-06-2016 Is that australian dollars Sun? Still a hefty price, but there again so are all Lego sets. The only nice thing is the quality is good and over time so long as you keep them complete they actually appreciate in value. I remember reading an article about a year ago that said if you'd bought Lego sets back in 2009 after the credit crunch and sold them today you'd actually make more money than you could on the stock exchange in the same period lol! RE: lego winter village train set - sunhuntin - 08-06-2016 new zealand dollars. thats only a guess based on the more recent winter village sets. the first one i bought was $100, and its gone up since then each year. this one may be more expensive again. some sets, like the original christmas train, are worth close to thousands. much as i would have loved that, cant be justified, lol. i actually lied before, too. i do have one other train... the toy story one. keep forgetting about it. RE: lego winter village train set - Nigels - 08-06-2016 The one I wanted but missed when it was available was the "Emerald Night Train" it is gorgeous, but the price these days are totally outrageous as its out of print... RE: lego winter village train set - sunhuntin - 08-12-2016 heres the offical lego reveal/release. the loco fireman im going to recreate to look like a friend of mine who is a fireman on steam engines over here. already bought the face, and just paid for the body on bricklink. also got the pieces to recreate his nephew, who is a keen railfan. it doesnt come with power functions, but can be made to take them. track is only a circle, no straights. http://brickset.com/article/23040/10254-winter-holiday-train#.V6yHQhjWX3Q.facebook |
