trackmaster kevin and RC hiro - sunhuntin - 05-14-2016

these two arrived this morning.

ive been after a loose kevin for several years, and had luck buying his flat decks for $5 in 2013. i finally saw listed kevin himself last week.
i won him for $30, and then got an email from the seller saying she had tested him, and due to a corroded terminal and broken wire he did not go. did i still want him? of course i did, so negotiated a $10 refund.

i dont have his load, so borrowed rocky's to show the magnet in his hook.

the same seller also had an RC hiro listed, which i won for $36.50. he is said to work fine.

so thats two fairly rare or expensive to buy engines crossed off my list

Nice pick ups Sunhuntin. To bad about the corroded terminals. I have had one of those yellow crates with a magnet or round metal piece inside for quite some time and never knew where it came from...now I do.

cheers, super. im hoping i can clean the terminal up and get a mate to solder the wire back in to place. depending on how short the wire is, it may need replacing.

im going to have to build up a supply of patience over the week, so i can happily crack him open and take a look. going to be a step-by-step photo task.

hes got one of those annoying set ups where the battery sits on a "plate" and all the gearing is underneath, meaning the wires are threaded through a hole and its a tight space to work in. terence and jeremy are the same, and they drive me crazy.

Good luck with him and I look forward to your photos of the experience.
