Pleasant surprise - Penybontshed - 05-07-2014

[attachment=35][ I bought a box of assorted Thomas stuff because I could see it had a lot of Japanese import Shinkansesn type trains (I really like the Japanese marques). When I picked it up the item pictured was amongst the lot. The lady apologised and stated she was from Japan and sorry the toy was all Japanese sound effects. I shrugged and said that's ok!!!
I think I got this and 5 train sets and around 12 trackmaster locos (most of which work) for £50. Big Grin

Welcome aboard Penybontshed [Image: welcome-flag-smiley-emoticon.gif]

Sounds like a great deal but if you where posting a picture I can't see it. I am not sure but it might be due to our moving to a new, bigger and better Forum.

[Image: saying-hello-smiley-emoticon.gif] I can see your picture now Penybontshed. Great find. I have see a few YouTube videos showing this station and it has a lot of activity going on with it that seems to draw your attention for sure. Hopefully we can see more treasures you have found including what you already have like your layout and favorite trains.

I intend to do a display at a local model show. It may well disappoint the local "rivet counters" but I have a feeling it will be of more interest than a GWR BLT to the younger ages. I will take photos then and post now I have the hang of it.
By the way, I run a 5"gauge steam loco for fun as well so its not all blue track for me!!

RE: Pleasant surprise - Super - 05-09-2014

Can't wait to see the show pictures. What is the 5"gauge steam loco? Is that a working steam engine?

RE: Pleasant surprise - Penybontshed - 05-09-2014

Yes indeed she is a Polly 5 loco and I will post a picture of her in steam when I get the hang of this board!
