Should I make a mail coach? - Miksolo - 04-10-2016 I've been thinking of turning my old Clarabel that came with Steam Along Thomas into a mail coach, and possibly modifying Annie's shell to fit on the samek ind of chassis as Clarabel to make a second one. Do you think this will be worth it? RE: Should I make a mail coach? - Super - 04-10-2016 I don't think its a question of worth...if you are interested in something then go for it! Thanks for the encouragement, Super! I really have to go in less than about 10 seconds so while I'm here I want to ask if ANYONE knows where I can get any kind of accurate model of an LMS Class 2MT 2-6-0, or a BR Standard Class 2 2-6-0, to use as reference when making my 3D-printer model of Barry in Plarail form. RE: Should I make a mail coach? - DalaGStanator - 04-10-2016 Yes! It would look really good as a mail coach if you don't have an actual one (mine has been converted into a makeshift Express Coach). _________________________________________________________ I suppose you could find a Hornby/Bachmann model of one, but make sure to remove a lot of detail to make it look more toylike. The best thing to do would be to look on eBay for a Hornby model, being a british company they produce the most accurate versions of british outline railway models. They also produce them in OO gauge which is slightly larger than HO as produced by Bachmann and the european companies so it would be more suitable for modeling a Tomy equivalent. Bearing in mind your need though all you need to do is look for a non-runner and possibly an older less detailed version also in which case you could probably pick one up fairly cheaply. Out of interest what chassis are you thinking of using or are you going to manufacture one of those also? I'm unsure on whether or not I'll recycle a chassis, or 3D print every single part I need including the chassis parts. It'll probably be an ordinary Thomas drive unit, or most likely teh drive unit of an engine like Henry or James. RE: Should I make a mail coach? - ROKMAN1445 - 04-10-2016 Go ahead Miksolo! Do what you want to! |
