video editing software - anc6802 - 02-08-2016
I see that many of you make fantastic videos, I would like to get into making good videos aswell. I run Ubuntu on nearly all of my computers, so if anyone knows a good fairly simple editor thats Linux based that would be fantastic! I have acouple of windows machines still aswell.

Personally I use Windows Movie Maker because its so freaking simple. Maybe one day I will move up to a more professional one to be able to do more things but for now Movie Maker is my choice because I don't have time to read manuals and experiment with powerful software. I use Windows Movie Maker, but I don't really know anything at all about Linux, other than that, for a limited time, you could get a special cosmetic item in TF2 if you played on a Linux OS.
Although, I've heard that many people, especially gamers and YouTube-poopers, use Sony Vegas to edit videos. It'd be very expensive, but they say it's worth it.

I use iMovie
Youtube has its own Video editor. I have not used it myself yet.

I've heard that the YouTube Video Editor isn't good at all. It's better to use free software.

Thanks Super, ill defiantly give it a shot tonight. Linux has copyright/codec issues cause its basically all open source and these other companies want there cut, which there is nothing wrong with that but it can be annoying at times, personally i think its fun trying to things manually.
I have cinelarra, and blender and I find them to be very difficult to use and way too complicated, they seem to be the one many people rave about
Ill download it tonight and let everyone know how it worked out if anyone else wants to try it. I know Linux has a huge following in the UK and it seems many of the members are from the UK aswell

I tried openshot and it does have a nice interface and it is esy to use, the problem is that its really designed to take multiple photos and make them into a video. There isn't many options for editing an existing video.
I found this program called Shotcut

The program is super easy to use, customizable interface and the basic interface changes depending upon what desktop you are running which is cool.
My first attempt to use this in the video I made showing how I converted Philip for use on blue track.
