Source for firebox covers - eilif - 01-21-2016 Where are you folks finding the firebox covers that you use when you deface Thomas and friends engines? I have asked this before as well. From what I understand the HO scale boiler doors are used but I have not found a good source for them yet. Hopefully someone will post a reply here. RE: Source for firebox covers - Super - 01-21-2016 All of mine came from a seller in the UK on Ebay. Use a Worldwide search and type in Smoke Box Doors or Smokebox Doors. You will need metric calipers to get a door that fits to what ever face on the boiler you replace. RE: Source for firebox covers - DalaGStanator - 01-21-2016 That's the smokebox, not the firebox. RE: Source for firebox covers - eilif - 01-21-2016 Thanks folks. Even if they're overseas, any links to sellers or items you've used in the past would help. I've found that Bachman has a huge range, but they're more than I usually spend for an engine. I might try and scratchbuild something as well. |
