Diorama/Layout - Penybontshed - 01-07-2016 Hi there from a very wet Wales. I was wondering if any of you had a permanent set up/layout. you know with scenery and ballast etc I have seen a couple from japan , one using Plarail Advance and another with regular size track. They are featured on this Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgIiUaTIj0WjvMrFz-iuFNw So if you have can you post a picture? I am sure we would all like to see . RE: Diorama/Layout - Super - 01-07-2016 I believe our own member Plarailfan has a really neat layout that if I remember correctly he made on an old large door and he can transport it around and has taken it to shows. Check out his many videos of it here... https://www.youtube.com/user/thebusnut/videos RE: Diorama/Layout - plarailfan - 01-08-2016 My next outing with the layout, will be to the railway exhibition, at St Mary's church hall, at Mirfield, in May 2016. (Saturday 21st May - it's a one day event) The layout is called "Consumers" as it is based in an industrial setting (industry consumes the raw materials, while consumers, er, consume the finished products !) Here's a video of the layout in action https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5CxI7wypcw RE: Diorama/Layout - Penybontshed - 01-08-2016 Looks good, is it on a door or did I see it built on a polystyrene/foam base? RE: Diorama/Layout - plarailfan - 01-09-2016 There were actually two slightly different layouts, using very similar trackplans, just while I tried everything for size, as they needed to be portable enough for exhibitions and also, be able to fit in the available space at home. The layout on the polystyrene foam base, turned out be be a bit too big to fit in the car, so, eventually, I concentrated on the layout built on an old door. If the polystyrene layout had stayed permanently at home, I would have continued developing it further, as it was easy to carve riverbeds and other features, where as the door is more robust for exhibitions. Some of the models, in this group pool, will be running on the layout at the forthcoming, Mirfield exhibition https://www.flickr.com/groups/1753030@N21/pool/ RE: Diorama/Layout - Super - 01-09-2016 Plarailfan I just love your custom rolling stock, just very well done. I don't recognize some, are there newer ones pictured in you link? Some of them can be easily adapted for Plarail. RE: Diorama/Layout - Super - 01-09-2016 They are amazing. Maybe you could post pictures or a link for us here when you have created new rolling stock as I am sure all here and all just browsing here appreciate the fine job you do with them. RE: Diorama/Layout - Penybontshed - 01-10-2016 Love the customised wagons, some good ideas there! |
