Heres this RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Super - 07-12-2014 I am having a ball recording music for our upcoming train video series. RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Ucwepn - 07-15-2014 After rebuilding 4472 with a faster motor and some fresh batteries I started to paint the 2x long clarabels I had (4 more are on the way), I painted them a light matte brown to emulate LNER teak compartment coaches, a subtle change and looks much better than the TOMY/Trackmaster orange XD. The coaches are the same length as express coaches and can be identified by 20 lumps on the roof and the length. RE: What did you do to your trains today? - TOMY_FAN - 07-15-2014 Good job on 4472. RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Super - 07-15-2014 Looking good Ucwepn. Did you use the air brush to paint? RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Trackmaster-Rail-Yard - 07-15-2014 That's great! I love it! Can't wait for the new custom video! RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Ucwepn - 07-16-2014 No airbrush this time I quickly brush painted the coaches here is a pic showing the original and the repaint, there was a bit of bleed thru the masking tape on the edges of the roof but nothing too major. I want to film a quick run of RC Hiro today, Also I have the worlds smallest RC Helicopter the nano falcon which might make a cameo above the layout RE: What did you do to your trains today? - sunhuntin - 07-16-2014 currently gluing the fenbo. no pics as holding it with one hand lol. RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Super - 07-16-2014 @ Ucwepn Do you have painters tape down there or are you just using the tan masking tape? Nice color. Today I have been working on customizing some and creating new rails for the layout. I have created some rigid 3/4 and 2 1/4 length track. Have also solved the problem of the sagging using the double length straight rails. If you have used these on elevated sections you know that some tend to sag in the middle. So much so that at times if a train runs under the sagging rail at the same time as one above it can flick the motor switch on the train below off or cause a derail. Plus they don't look very good sagging causing the train to ride up and down over the pillars. These 2x rails are great for eliminating too many risers cluttering up the layout and gives more visibility to the layout. Will post a few pictures soon of the modifications I came up with. RE: What did you do to your trains today? - sunhuntin - 07-17-2014 got my second fenbo santa fe today... in stunning condition!! im likely going to have to retain the original coupler as the replacement tomy one is too low. however, the original coupler doesnt "hold hands" very well either. taking them both to the club so will see what i can work out. might cut the fenbo eye off and glue the tomy one on instead. not sure yet. |
